Kolman Agro Engineering was born on a family farm long before it became a company. Our founder, Eng. Tony Kola, grew up in the Kenyan countryside watching three generations shape the land.

His grandfather cultivated maize, sugarcane and tomatoes, and traded grain across the Kenya–Tanzania border — an early lesson in how the right infrastructure and post-harvest handling can turn a harvest into a livelihood. His father carried the tradition forward, running a mixed enterprise of sugarcane, tomatoes and grade dairy cattle.

As a young boy, Tony spent his mornings and evenings tending to the cattle — animals that demanded attention every hour of the day. That quiet, hands-on rhythm turned into a lifelong love for agriculture and, eventually, a decision to train as an Agricultural Engineer.

But the same fields also revealed a persistent set of problems: unreliable water, grain rotting in poor storage, weevil losses, and a scarcity of modern tools and know-how in the villages that feed the country. Kolman Agro Engineering is Tony's answer to those challenges — a company built to bring modern irrigation, grain technology and earthworks within reach of the farmers, cooperatives and institutions that keep East Africa fed.
